Are you looking for a way to reduce tuition for your family? Participate in SCRIP to achieve that goal!
What is SCRIP?
Scrip means substitute money. When you purchase SCRIP, you are purchasing gift cards and gift certificates. These certificates/gift cards are used just like cash for everyday expenses like food, clothing and entertainment. Each gift card is assigned a “rebate percentage” by the issuing company. The rebates range from 1.24-13.74%. The rebate on the gift cards is then split between SPX Home & School and the family as a credit on future tuition payments. Earned rebates are split 70% to your personal tuition account and 30% to the Home & School Association fund, which is used for educational materials, technology, tuition assistance, field trips or other areas.

With SCRIP, participating families simply do their regular
weekly shopping with gift cards from favorite retailers! Your
family can decrease tuition costs and at the same time support activities &
equipment that your child will benefit from.
Example of a SCRIP purchase, rebate and split would be: Suzie Smith ordered $500 worth of gift cards for gas, grocery shopping and clothes shopping for summer clothes for Joseph. The rebate is $16.70: $11.69 goes to the family’s tuition account and $5.01 goes to SPX Home & School Association.
Another bonus is Kohl’s will allow its charge card holders to use SCRIP cards to make payments on their bill. You can still earn a rebate toward tuition while using Kohl’s promotions and coupons!
SCRIP orders are placed online each week by Monday 5pm. You pay online at the time of your order with Presto Pay (an EFT from your checking account). SCRIP orders can be picked up in the office or sent home with your child on each Friday.
Think of SCRIP purchases simply as you would buying gift cards at Kroger or Giant Eagle to receive fuel discounts. SCRIP simply gives you a discount on tuition payments.
